FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Do I get to pick the date of the show?
Yes, you do! Send us the date(s) that work best for you and we’ll accommodate them the best we can. If you have the flexibility to offer multiple dates it may increase your chances of being selected, but offering a single date is great too.

2. Is this free?
Unfortunately, it is not. Our primary goal is to connect and make memories with you and your loved ones, but we obviously need to cover travel and living expenses as well. This is an open opportunity to submit a date and a financial bid to host Steve for a private show. Higher bids will increase the odds of being selected, but date availability will also be a deciding factor on where he ends up.

3. How do I pay for this?
Some of you are able to cover the financial offer and put on a free show for everyone else. Some of you are not. To those of you who are not, we recommend that you work together with your family/friends and have everyone pitch in. As the host, you assume the role of our sole point-of-contact and “financial representative” for the rest of the group. So when you make us an offer, let us know what number you and/or your people can collectively come up with. We also request that we receive half of your payment in advance via an online payment and the other half on the night of the show. This can be done with cash, check, or card.

4. How many offers will you accept?
We are planning on accepting 20 offers over the next calendar year. Since this is not in a tour format and it’s structured more as one-off fly/drive dates, all seasons and dates are in the realm of possibility.

5. What kind of space do I need?
This show can happen just about anywhere. Steve will be traveling light with a guitar and portable Bose sound system, so he is really flexible and open to whatever you have in mind. Backyard, patio, basement, barn, driveway, poolside, on a boat, you name it! All free game. It also doesn’t matter if you’d like the show to be for a dozen people or a couple hundred. He has plenty of experience with both and will happily accommodate.

6. What if it rains?
Sometimes the best memories happen when the plans change… In case it rains, we ask that you have a covered backup location in mind. A covered barn, carport, basement, porch etc.

*Steve is unfortunately allergic to dogs, so an indoor location will not be suitable if a dog lives in the house full time. We apologize for the inconvenience. Being outdoors around dogs is no problem.

7. Do I need a sound system, stage, or lights?
You do not. Steve travels with his own sound system and small stage lights. If you are expecting a large crowd and would like to provide a platform stage or additional lights of some kind, that's totally fine but not a requirement.

8. Will my location / address be posted publicly?
No. We want this show to be exclusive for you, your friends and family. If you wish to promote the show locally to your community through social media or flyers in your hometown, that’s up to you. YOU as the host, have control over who is invited.

9. Do I need to provide food and drinks?
This is not a requirement, but what is a party without some grub? If you want to make a big feast and have free drinks for everyone, we’re certainly not going to stop you. If you just want to tell your friends to bring their own beverages and snacks, that’s great too. As the host, you have the freedom to decide whether or not you want to have alcohol present at your event.

10. How long is this event and performance?
Steve will perform a 75-minute set. The event window of time is really up to you, but Steve is usually onsite for about 5 hours. He likes to arrive a couple of hours before showtime to set up and spend time with the hosts before guests arrive (if possible). After his performance, we will also hang out and spend a couple of hours with you and your guests. Typically, he would arrive at 5pm, perform at 7pm, and head out around 10pm.
