I'm currently sitting down in Evanston, IL enjoying yet ANOTHER beautiful fall day on this tour. Tonight will be our 9th show in a row. Wow. This is easily one of the best experiences I've had in my life. I'm thankful to somehow feel totally present, focused, and at peace amidst all the traveling and meeting new people everyday.

It has been cool to step into people's homes and to feel like family almost instantly.  I mean it. In this way, it has been completely different than club touring which typically feels like more of a business exchange. I think this difference, feeling like family, is why I haven't felt homesick yet. I know that Gracie feels it too, which has been really amazing. She is a real trooper out here and has been loving it as much as I have. I'm proud of her.

Highlights:

-Greg who is 63, played me some of his own blues originals while I packed up last night.

-Homemade Chili

-Sitting on two opposing shores of Lake Michigan in the same week.

-Dude in Birmingham, MI yelled out that he'd buy 5 of my t-shirts if I played "This Ain't Rock n' Roll" a second time, so I did. SCORE.

It's still hard to believe that we're doing this... Huge thanks to all of our hosts so far. We can't wait to meet the rest of you.
